History of Origins

The project was carried out in the framework of a Public Private Partnership because of the high investment costs of € 65 million and the long refinancing period involved.

At the outset of the construction phase, the IGW engineering consortium (Ingenieurgemeinschaft Klima-Wind-Kanal Wien), consisting of JBG Gauff Ingenieure, Dornier SystemConsult and Gauff Rail Engineering, was appointed as the builder representative responsible for the technical supervision of the project.

As the technical service life of the Vehicle Testing Station in the Vienna Arsenal was drawing to an end, the question arose as to the necessity of a follow-up project.
