Climatic Wind Tunnel Vienna

The BMK innovation laboratory Austrian AIRlabs is an innovation laboratory and plans to setup and operate a multi site testinfrastructure, with the goal to support the research, development, validation and integration of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

Together with 25 partners from different sectors like users, industrial companies and research organisations different proving grounds and test infrastructures for UAS can be provided. Even though the main focus of the laboratory is on air space, the operating categories simulation and indoor testing also rank among the offer portfolio of AIRlabs. The Austrian location advantages, such as (high) alpine areas, can be used within the different operation categories. Hence different business partners find their needs met within this variety of offers and services provided.

AIRlabs Austria is funded by the BMK program „TAKE OFF“ and handled by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG).
